"The quiet and relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed. We were completely refreshed after a good night's sleep on the Select Comfort bed! Great breakfast!" - Daniel and Anne, Rogersville, AL

"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!"

Psalms 46:10

Welcome to Longing for Home, a bed and breakfast situated in the bosom of the Tennessee Valley just one hour west of Huntsville and two hours from Birmingham and Nashville. Resting tranquilly on fifteen (15) sylvan acres, transected by the charmingly situated Weaver Branch Creek, this circa 1880's farmhouse is a wonderful romantic escape, a serene weekend getaway, or vacation destination for the traveler wishing to enjoy the renewed "state of mind, place of grace, and way of life"* of ages past that is Longing for Home.

Our Tennessee Valley inn features three spacious guestrooms: Sunshine Daydreams, Country Graces, and Simple Pleasures, each room fashioned to cultivate a peaceful state of mind, a quiet place of grace, and a slower pace of life. For those with an enthusiasm for the out-of-doors, "The Sleeping Porch", furnishes a view of the nighttime heavens and the advantage of waking to the music of nature that enfolds this halcyon country setting. Each individual guestroom has its own bath with washstand-style sinks set atop marble vanity counters along with all the amenities needed to ensure a comfortable stay. The Sleeping Porch features a shower-steam combination as well as a separate, shared powder room. Sunshine Daydreams features a fireplace and a Jacuzzi tub along with its own balcony for your morning coffee or to enjoy anytime. Country Graces offers a cozy atmosphere where you can soak in the antique claw-foot tub by candlelight glowing from the 200 year-old mantle. Simple Pleasures, while the smallest of our guestrooms, is the most luxuriously appointed with a cozy reading nook. Its separate bath features a Greek soaking tub, a deep tub built especially to soak away your daily cares.

While we are your hosts, you will awake each morning in anticipation of a large "stick-to-your-ribs" farm breakfast. Menus include plenty of coffee, teas, eggs, sausage, breakfast casseroles, biscuits, fresh fruit, french toast, cereals, specialty breads, and more. Plan to bring an appetite!!

During your stay, the forested grounds of Longing for Home offer many unique opportunities. There are walking trails where you can enjoy the peace of nature while strolling through open pastures and shaded forest paths along the gurgling water of Weaver Branch. There is a large gazebo, planted in the midst of our lower pasture and surrounded by wildflowers, which provides you with a cozy spot to idle away an afternoon. Ample wood decks offer numerous places to relax among clusters of brilliant day lilies and stately magnolia trees. The sparkling waters of our large swimming pool are a perfect choice for exercise and recreation.

Nestled among the trees, Longing for Home is the ideal location for your special events. Whether it is a unique wedding location, the site for a memorable family reunion, or the setting for that special anniversary you seek, we invite you to our B&B to make your special day perfect.

Make Longing for Home your home as you experience the small town atmosphere of Rogersville, Alabama. Enjoy the warmth of the shops that line our historic downtown, explore the Civil War history of North Alabama, and/or come into full contact with the beauties of nature on Wheeler Lake as well as a surprisingly wide range of distinctive area attractions.

We look forward to sharing comments left by our guests in our in-room guest journals!

"We had the most wonderful time, and have never felt more welcome, than we did here at Longing For Home.  You both were just like we had known you always.  I hope we will be able to come and visit with you again and we will keep touch.  God bless you and your home.  We will keep you in our prayers.  P.S. Food was wonderful and the stories great!!"

 "Thank you so much for your hospitality.  Breakfast was wonderful and we really enjoyed the conversation and stories.  We fell like we are old friends!   This was our first B&B stay and we couldn't have expected anything better.  Your Extra touches made it all very special.  We were only able to stay one night ... we would have enjoyed a longer stay.  We'll just have to come back!"

"You have done a masterful job in creating a 'top of the line' experience for all who come through your doors!!  We are so thankful we could have this experience one more time.  It is magical.  We just love the (hot tub) experience under the stars...Thank you for your warmth, your laughter and your giving spirit.  The food was delightful. And, yes, I love the idea of a tub at (in) the creek!!

  "Words cannot express our experience here at Longing For Home.  From the vary moment we walked in the front Door we felt as if we were, indeed, at home.  Your Hospitality was over the top and we thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with you!  You two are very special people and have a special, beautiful treasure here.  Our room was spectacular and we enjoyed all of the "extras" like roses, cider and those yummy cupcakes (of which I ate both - hee - hee!) We plan to tell everyone we know about our get-a-way here and here at Longing For Home. One thing you can count on for sure ... one day will return 'home!'"                                                                      Andy & Edi  5/28/2012

Our stay was wonderful!  From the wonderful cupcakes down to the Jacuzzi tub, bed and great breakfast.  Y'all were so kind and we enjoyed the stories (about the history & lore of the Rogersville area) greatly.  This has been a great weekend of rest.  We really enjoyed the shops of Rogersville so much!  We will be back!  This place truly feels like home!  We pray the Lord continues to Bless you both.

P.S. Tell your Daughter the massage was fantastic!!
